Attalos Mouse Trap

A New Smart Way of Traditional Mouse Trap

Our goal is the development of a smart system of poisonous bait trap for rats, that is going to give helpful information to the user about the trap's necessities. The system will interact in an open space environment, on flat surfaces, during the time period of May-October. The main scope of this project is to lure rats, therefore they will consume the bait without damaging the device and to inform the user about when and where a device needs bait refill. More specifically, our intention is to collect data such as device's longitude and latitude and poisonous bait's weight, in order for each device to upload that data into Attalos database, as a means to present that information to the user with an app, website or a telephone message.

User

Agriculture businesses and professional farmers that use outdated solutions or they search for one to protect their agriculture facilities from rodents.

Place

Agriculture facilities that face difficulties with rodents. Greenhouses, storages of food goods and factories located near fields.

Many attempts took place in order to improve the aesthetics and features of the device. Optimizations of the interior architecture, with attention in detail.

Some of the main goals of this project was the device function, human safety and trap efficiency, with keeping in mind the regulation rules.

With the typical poisonous rat stations, the professionals need to travel a lot of kilometers with many stops in between  in order to check if they need to refill the bait. With Attalos Mouse, you can check them from your device at any place and any time.

We tried to minimize the material use for each device and maximize the quality of 3d printing outcome

We built prototypes to help us understand how our design would be transformed into the real world with 3d printed enclosures

We ensured that the enclosures would have all the appropriate parameters and measures of rat hole dimensions, cap opening resistance, device position maintenance, electronics' placement etc..

We were able to test our devices in real simulation conditions, in order to solve any potential difficulties
